This course provides the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults and specifically applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting. This unit of competency satisfies the requirement set for approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training for child carers and educators.

- Teachers and education support staff who require approved asthma and anaphylaxis training for their work;

- Baby-sitters.

Requirements
Completion of online pre-learning is required prior to arrival at the face-to-face session in class.
Prerequisites
There are no pre-requisites associated with HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting.
Recertification:
Specific licencing requirements should be obtained from your regulatory body and relevant state Work Health and Safety (WHS) authority. However, the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines that state CPR skills should be refreshed every 12 months.
