Course Outline
This course is an introduction for new and a refresher for existing mine workers to the prerequisites and induction requirements of Standard 11 – Surface Operations.
It includes the resource industry unit of competencies combined with a workplace familiarisation and assessment that enables participants to commence work in the mining industry and in particular the Queensland Coal Mining Industry.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this skill set can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors. Relevant information must be sourced prior to application of the Skill Set. This Skill Set addresses the regulatory requirements for open-cut coal mining specified in Recognised Standard 11, Training in coal mines – Coal Mining Safety and Health Act, Queensland.
